School Board Representatives: Individual to go to NACS school board meetings and report back to PTO.
Twice monthly, various times.
Teacher Dinner: TBD
During Parent - Teacher conferences the PTO supplies dinner for the teachers.
Food volunteers are called to donate dishes of food. $200.00 is budgeted for this event.
A buffet type dinner is needed because not all the teachers are able to eat at once.
They come and go as their schedule permits. Paper products, drinks, cups are all needed.
Some decorating to make the teachers lounge look nice is also involved.
Individual needed to stay from set-up to clean-up. Could be more than one person.
Make A Difference Day: Make A Difference Day is a day when friends, relatives, neighbors, and co-workers join together with nonprofit organizations, schools, religious institutions, businesses, and service clubs to take part in volunteer projects. It is a day when the spirit of volunteerism can be rallied into a year-round commitment to making a difference in our communities through volunteering. Make A Difference Day is held the fourth Saturday every October. This year it will be held TBD.
Basketball 3 - 5: Contact person needed to communicate information from Perry Hill/Hickory Center league.
Be responsible for sign-up sheets at Huntertown. Go to meeting held, involved in scheduling. I'll give more info when I know more.
Staff Blood Draw: This usually takes place in March. Individual needs to contact food volunteers and have breakfast items ready for when staff members have blood taken.
Staff (who decide to have blood drawn for cholesterol and other test) need to fast from midnight the night before.
They come in the early morning (6-7). You don't have to be there in the morning, just have food in the fridge and nurse will get out.
The corporation offers the test at a discount price. Many on the staff take advantage of this service - usually around 40.
Teacher Tea: In May during Teacher Appreciation Week, we have a Tea for the teachers.
The student council puts on a little skit and PTO provides funds for food. Individual needs to buy food, help set-up and clean-up.
Teacher Lunch: The last day of school for teachers (there are no students on this day) the PTO provides a nice lunch for the teachers and whatever staff are still in the building.
$250.00 is budgeted. Food donors are called for food. This is similar to the Teacher Dinner during conferences.
Chicken Dinner: Port-a-Pit chicken needs ordered, menu decided and purchased (beans, applesauce, bread & butter, drinks) desserts are usually donated.
Publicity done, volunteers scheduled. Friday April 21,
2006
All of these events have folders from previous years. Most have good records and details on how it was done.
You may of course call me with additional questions. I've tried to give more details to give you an idea of time involved.
Thanks.
