A cool program that you pay a fee each year (about $35.00) and the kids (recommended for 3-8) log on to educational games that are updated periodically. My boys love it. Lots of reading, math, geography, and it has easy, moderate and hard levels that cater to their abilities. Clever Island A free site to send greeting cards via Email. Parents and kids love it. Usually have lots of cards to choose from, some are very clever, some actually interactive. Should be checked out. Blue Mountain
The best magazine for families...bar none. It doesn't preach about behavior, health, family time, etc. It's just information about vacations, crafts, things to do on rainy days...for all age levels. It's great for money saving ideas. You can subscribe for the hard copy or get it online...for a price, but it's reasonable. Family Fun Magazine This site lets you explore vacation options that always keep in mind that you have kids in tow. It covers all domestic and international travel sites and you let them know what kind of vacation you are looking for (for example, swimming, skiing, site seeing, hiking), in which area, and how cheap you want to travel. A great site that is an amazing compilation of kid's songs...old and new. I use it when I start singing a song that got into my head from 30 years ago, but I forgot all the words. This site will find the song for you. Usually you can print out songs for free. Sometimes at a cost. For example, remember "Senor Delgato" was a cat...on a high, red roof, Delgato sat...." Anyway, a fun site for all. Kid's can also share stories, jokes, and music. Sir Pinkster's KIDiddle This site does everything it promises. My kids love it. It's sponsored by Sylvan Learning. They have book lists very similar to our AR lists, many books are duplicates from the AR list. The benefit of this web site is that the kids read the books and then take a quiz on the test, just like AR, but after they accummulate points, they can trade in their points for real prizes, parents can even make up prizes for them.
